Gail’s choice for the Book of the Month:
If you took a casual stroll through my house, you might notice my piano and guitars in the living room. And I’m sure you would be pressured into noticing my two dogs as they personally ‘welcomed’ you! But you might not notice the book on top of my Bible.
My treasured book “combo”—The Bible and The Seeking Heart—not only travels throughout my home, but it also accompanies me on my travels. In a few stolen moments after a class one day, Jack Modesett (Chairman of the Board of Directors at Christianity Today International) shared with me his passion for the writings of this author, Fenelon (pronounced fen-a-lawn).
You won’t find Fenelon doing book signings at Barnes and Noble, nor will you see him interviewed on Good Morning America. Fenelon died 300 years ago, leaving his valuable writings behind. But with the advent of technology, peeking inside Fenelon’s mind and heart can be accomplished right now and for centuries to come.
What is The Seeking Heart about? YOU. Do you really love God and want to know Him for yourself? Have you ever asked God “why are You doing this to me?” Would you ever do something only to make yourself happy even it if went against God’s will? Do you believe you know what is best for you? Do you think God cannot completely satisfy you? Is ‘living for God’ a concept as vague as an early morning fog?
Don’t be afraid of this book. And don’t rush through it. Fenelon’s honesty serves as a laser-beam of light into your own heart. His words send you back into the pages of Scripture, letting the Spirit take you even closer to Christ.
NOTE: The book is divided into essay-like entries, each one just a page or two at the most. I like to read, reread, think, and act upon only one entry a week…as my seeking heart seems to need extra absorption time.
Until next time…give your seeking heart a chance to grow! Click HERE to find the book at Amazon, and for less than you would spend on an afternoon movie, you could have a lifetime of wisdom, shared by a man who like you and me wants to stand in heaven one day and say, “Wow, it’s great to be home!”
Be the Message! Live the Story!

PS. Thanks for the introduction, Jack!
